 About the Test

Worried about coping in classes where the medium of instruction is English, then IELA Test is the solution.

The IELA Test is offered as a Computer Based Test (CBT). It is also available in a Paper Based Test (PBT) version for students unfamiliar with the CBT version. Kindly select the right option while registering for the test.

The test does not need any special study or preparation, nor is it based on any particular text book.

Through the test you can demonstrate your English-language skills.

Test Your Reading, Listening and Writing Skills.

The IELA is an objective type general test in English language. It measures how well you read, listen, write and speak in English. The test is available to any Foreign National who needs scores for admission in Symbiosis International University.

The IELA contains 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), divided into 8 parts. Each part tests a different skill.

 
Part 1 Vocabulary 30 questions
Part 2 Vocabulary 20 questions
Part 3 Sentence Comprehension 25 questions
Part 4 Reading Comprehension 12 questions
Part 5 Reading Comprehension 12 questions
Part 6 Reading Comprehension 12 questions
Part 7 Reading Comprehension 14 questions
Part 8 Writing 25 questions
  Total 150 questions
 

  • There is no negative marking scheme
  • IELA is a time test. Please make sure you go fast enough to be able to answer all 150 questions. If you find any question rather difficult, please go over to the nest question. You can come back to MCQs thus omitted, if time permits, later on.
  • Duration of the test will be 3 hours.
