- Confirmed your place at a Symbiosis institute.
- Arranged for someone to meet you at the airport.
- Arranged accommodation.
- Checked the dates for registration and orientation.
- Checked customs and quarantine regulations and packed items you need to declare separately.
- Written down contact details of your country's embassy in India, and other important contact details.

Remember to pack the following in your hand luggage:
- Valid Passport.
- Valid student Visa.
- Provisional Admission Letter.
- ORIGINALS & ATTESTED copies of your highest educational mark sheets/certificates.
- Certified English Translations of the above.
- Some Indian Currency for your first few weeks in India.
- Vaccinations/Necessary Medication.

- Remember to keep copies of all documents at home as well as with you. Always keep copies separate from the originals.
- Keep a list of contact numbers, especially people in India you can contact in an emergency.
- Carry an extra supply of prescription medicines, extra eyeglasses and a list of any other prescription medicines you may need. Bring medicine in prescription labeled bottles and pack it in your carry-on (hand) luggage.
- Be sure that your passport is not close to expiring.
- Register valuable items such as laptops, cameras and jewellery with Customs before departing (this also saves you import fees when you return).
- Put your name, address and telephone number on and inside each piece of checked on and carry-on luggage.
- Please ensure that you carry at least 50-passport size of your photographs with you for various forms, Foreigners registration, Id cards, etc.

The first things you need to do on arrival:
- Report to The International Office and submit all relevant documents to the International Students' Office. Complete all the formalities.
- Fill in the F.R.O form and get your Residential Permit from the Police Commissioner's Office. All individuals obtaining a visa for more than 6 months or 180 days have to obtain a 'Residence Permit'.
- Find out the dates for the orientation program and register for it.
- Pay any outstanding (course/hostel etc) fees to Symbiosis to confirm your place at the institute.
