Scholarly Output | Research Publications and Support
Research publications form the foundation of scholarly communication and are globally recognized as a key indicator of academic and research excellence. They play a vital role in disseminating new knowledge, fostering innovation, and advancing society by enabling researchers to share validated findings with the global academic community.
Through rigorous peer review, research publications enhance the credibility of scholarly work, refine research methodologies, and stimulate further inquiry across disciplines. Beyond academia, high-quality research outputs significantly influence public policy, industry practices, and societal development by informing evidence-based decision-making and driving innovation.
The Research Publications vertical of the Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI) at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is committed to strengthening the research ecosystem of the University. It provides comprehensive support to faculty members, researchers, and students by creating awareness about various aspects of scholarly publishing, encouraging ethical and high-impact publications, and fostering a research-conducive environment. Through structured guidance, capacity-building initiatives, and continuous monitoring of research output, SCRI aims to enhance both individual academic growth and the University’s overall research performance.
Funding | Research Projects and Grants
Funded research plays a crucial role in strengthening the quality, impact, and innovation potential of university research. It involves scholarly and scientific investigations supported by financial assistance from external agencies such as government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and international funding agencies. Such support enables researchers to undertake impactful studies, develop research infrastructure, and contribute meaningfully to academic and societal advancement.
At Symbiosis International (Deemed University), research funding is facilitated through the Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI), which supports faculty members and researchers in identifying opportunities, securing grants, and managing funded projects. SCRI structures research funding under two broad categories: Extramural Funding (governmental, non-governmental, and international grants) and Intramural Funding, which includes Major Research Projects (MJRP) and Minor Research Projects (MRP). This framework reflects SIU’s commitment to nurturing a robust and sustainable research ecosystem.
Intellectual Property Cell
Intellectual Property (IP) refers to creations of the human mind, including inventions, literary and artistic works, designs, and symbols. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)—such as Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications, and Trade Secrets—play a vital role in promoting innovation, knowledge dissemination, and socio-economic development.
The Intellectual Property (IP) Cell at the Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI), established in 2013–14, is dedicated to creating awareness and strengthening the culture of IPR among faculty members and students at UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. The Cell supports innovators in protecting, managing, and commercializing their intellectual assets while ensuring compliance with the University’s IP Policy.
Through structured guidance on IP generation, legal frameworks, administration, and technology transfer, the IP Cell facilitates end-to-end support for IP protection, thereby contributing to a transparent and innovation-driven research ecosystem at Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
