Inauguration of Rotary Peace Center at Symbiosis International University Lavale Campus

Symbiosis International University has been selected to establish the ‘Rotary Peace Center’. This is the first Rotary Peace Center in South Asia and the eighth in the world. The inauguration of the Rotary Peace Center was held at the University’s Lavale, Pune campus on Monday, January 26, 2026. This landmark initiative marks reinforcing India’s growing role in global peacebuilding and conflict resolution

The prestigious event was inaugurated by Mr. Holger Knaack, Trustee Chair of The Rotary Foundation, and Mr. Francesco Arezzo, President of Rotary International. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis and Chancellor of SIU.

The Rotary Peace Center at Symbiosis International University will serve as a hub for academic excellence, leadership training, and research in peace studies, conflict resolution, and sustainable development. It is expected to nurture future peacebuilders and strengthen regional as well as global collaboration on humanitarian and social impact initiatives.
